Colorado farmland cash rent by county

What an acre of farmland rents for in each Colorado county, from the USDA’s 2026 county cash rents survey.

Statewide in 2026, cropland rents for $83 an acre and is valued at $2,960 an acre, so a year’s rent is 2.8% of its value; pasture rents for $7.60 an acre and is valued at $1,200 an acre, so a year’s rent is 0.63% of its value (USDA NASS state estimates).

Cash rent per acre a year, highest cropland rent first. A year in parentheses is the county’s latest figure when it is older than 2026.

No rent-to-price figure yet: Colorado's county sale files don't say whether land was farmed when it sold, so farm sales can't be told apart from other land sales.

NASS withholds a county’s figure when too few farms answered, and pools some counties together; those counties are left out (52 of Colorado’s counties have a figure). The county pages of the other 12 counties show our estimate from the counties around them, marked as an estimate.
